Ethix Background

Ethix Pitching LLC was founded in December 2024 by MJ Gabaldon and his father, Marcos Gabaldon, with one clear vision: to build a space where athletes can chase their goals and unlock their full potential.

We set out to create more than just a training facility—we wanted a home away from home. A place where players of all levels feel supported, challenged, and inspired. At Ethix, athletes have access to elite-level coaching and cutting-edge technology, all at an affordable price.

This is how Ethix was born: from a passion for player development and a belief that anyone, given the right environment, can grow and succeed. Whether you’re just starting out or already competing at a high level, our mission is to welcome you in, push you forward, and help you keep grinding for what’s next.

Meet the Owner

MJ Gabaldon is the Director of Player Development and Owner of Ethix Pitching LLC. A lifelong student of the game, MJ has been around baseball since he could walk—starting at age 2 and playing all the way through age 23.

He starred at Mater Dei High School, where he posted a remarkable 0.00 ERA over 60.2 innings his sophomore year. After high school, he continued his career at Orange Coast College under the legendary John Altobelli, where he earned a spot in the starting rotation for the Pirates in 2020—before the season was cut short by COVID.

During the pandemic, MJ faced major adversity: a torn UCL led to Tommy John surgery, and 13 months into rehab, he tore his flexor tendon, forcing him to miss yet another season. But he didn’t quit. He came back strong in 2023, throwing 70+ innings, topping out at 94 mph, earning First Team All-OEC honors, and leading the conference in strikeouts.

His performance earned him an invitation to the 2024 MLB Draft League, where he impressed with an average of 11 strikeouts per nine innings.

While sidelined during rehab, MJ became obsessed with understanding the body, pitching mechanics, and performance. That journey sparked his future—training high school to professional athletes, focusing on efficient movement, velocity development, durability, and pitch design. He even created his own pitch, the “Spike-Change”, blending creativity with data-driven development.

Through Ethix, MJ now helps athletes unlock their full potential, just as he fought to unlock his own.
